Your Breast Augmentation Procedure

At your initial consultation, Dr. Barach will listen carefully to your aesthetic goals so that he can accurately achieve your desired breast size. There are certain constraints to your new breast size based on your unique body type. Dr. Barach will evaluate your skin laxity, body fat content, and existing breast tissue to ensure that your results look natural while respecting your aesthetic desires. He will always recommend an appropriate implant size to accommodate your body type and physical attributes.

You can choose to have either silicone or saline implants. Dr. Barach will discuss the benefits of each option with you and recommend the ideal alternative for your body type and aesthetic goals. At your consultation, Dr. Barach will also discuss incision options and breast implant placement options with you.

Your procedure will generally take approximately one-and-a-half hours to complete and is performed under general anesthesia in the safe environment of the hospital’s operating room suite. Dr. Barach will place the implant in a pocket created under your breast tissue or underneath your chest muscle. After a recovery period of an hour or two, you can go home wearing a sports bra, returning one week later for removal of your sutures. It is important to follow Dr. Barach’s breast augmentation after-care instructions carefully to ensure proper healing.
